Notice of Completion van Tol Dam Micro Hydro Project Issue Date: February 23, 2017 Van Tol Enterprises Inc (“van Tol”) is proposing to commence operation of its existing 0.035 megawatt waterpower generating station at 129 Orchardville Side Road, Ayton, Ontario in Grey County. The station is located on the Beatty Saugeen River. The project is subject to a Class Environmental Assessment for Waterpower Projects (“Class EA”) and is categorized as a project associated with existing infrastructure pursuant to the Class EA. An Environmental Study Report (“ESR”) has been prepared as required under the Class EA. The proposed project has been reviewed in a process consistent with the Class EA, the results of which are described in the van Tol Dam Micro Hydro Project Environmental Study Report. The conclusions of the ESR indicate this small-scale run-of-river power generation system has a low degree of environmental alteration consistent with what one would expect from a small project on a small weir, utilizing existing infrastructure. The ESR is available for a 39 day review period. Thus the ESR is being made available for review and comment from February 23, 2016 through April 3, 2017. A copy of the Class EA for Waterpower Projects is posted on the Ontario Waterpower Association website at www.owa.ca . Subject to responses from the public, regulatory agencies and Aboriginal communities and necessary permits, the proponent intends to commence operations in 2017. Under the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act and the Environmental Assessment Act, unless otherwise stated in the submission, any personal information such as name, address, telephone number and property location included in a submission will become part of the public record files for this matter and will be released, if requested, to any person.
